EZChrom Elite

EZChrom Elite™ is the premier Chromatography Data System (CDS) used in a variety of companies throughout the world. It is successfully deployed in laboratories involved in HPLC, GC, and related chromatography applications in pharmaceutical, petrochemical, biomedical, chemical, environmental, testing and government laboratories.

EZChrom Elite has been continuously and regularly refined and enhanced for years from the experience of leading chromatography end users and major instrument manufacturers. This has resulted in a software package that can flexibly handle all kinds of chromatography data requirements and demands. With an incredibly rich and comprehensive feature set, users can employ EZChrom Elite with the confidence of knowing that they are using a powerful software package than can meet current and future laboratory needs.

Ease of Use

Casual or new analysts benefit the most from EZChrom Elite’s Single Window Access—it provides all of the most commonly used functions at your fingertips. You can develop, run, and monitor methods and data from a single instrument window.

Opening multiple instrument windows simultaneously grants access and permission-based control over all of your systems. Powerful built-in Wizards assist you to quickly develop your time-consuming methods and sequences. This guided process enables you to correctly build method and sequence parameters with greater speed and efficiency.

Multi-Vendor Instrument Control:

EZChrom Elite can be configured with a vast number of control software options for leading HPLC, GC and related hardware manufacturers. This provides a completely integrated system to control instrument operation, collect and store results, and record all instrument settings with each run.

Report Options

The Method Custom Report feature, standard with EZChrom Elite, gives the user an incredible degree of flexibility to design a report. For example, a custom report may be developed just for a method, or a template may be designed to properly fit into your laboratory requirements.

Customized run reports:

The Custom Report has a broad selection of report tools. One of them is the highly flexible Run Report. The Run Report offers a selection of up to 42 different standard parameters, with room for 24 custom parameters. Once the parameters are selected, you have the ability to edit the name, font, column size, the number of significant digits for numbers, and a variety of other styles. Insert objects, files, and graphics into the report so all information is in one place. Insert your company logo into the template, so it can be displayed on any or every page.

Summary report:

A spreadsheet-style summary report has the ability to display your sequence results in an unlimited number of ways. A Table Wizard and Function Wizard are included to assist in generating templates unique to your application. For added convenience, sequence summary templates are also available. The example report was generated using one of the pre-built summary templates.

All functions are described in English, with no codes to remember. Reports and templates are designed using simple word processor-type commands. Templates can therefore be written without resorting to a listing of specialized codes or a help file.

Custom Parameter:

Create your own cutomized calculations that are automatically calculated with each analysis. Custom parameters are available for reporting, export and annotations.

Graphic Editing Capability:

Nearly all chromatography data systems allow generation of method parameters through text and table entries. Nearly all allow re-analysis of the data once it has been collected. Few of them, however, offer the versatility and ease of performing these operations with way EZChrom Elite can.

EZChrom Elite's powerful graphics present the chromatography data in convenient views and provide Graphic Editing operations to let you name peaks, set retention times, specify method-timed events and change existing parameters graphically with simple mouse operations. What would require tedious and repetitious entries on the computer with some chromatography data systems can now be done quickly and easily in EZChrom Elite.

Extended Automation Capabilities:

Whether you are performing highly involved chromatography and need to use the full power of computerization to handle and analyze the data, or are a casual user needing to quickly QC a batch for acceptance, EZChrom Elite has features that flexibly address your needs.

For extensive automation customization, the optional Automation Toolbox provides a means to tailor specific applications to EZChrom Elite and generate custom user interfaces. Or you can use the exclusive EZLaunch feature and pick your allowed instrument, allowed method, and start your run.

Audit Trails:

From unambiguously tracking changes to data files (who, what, when, why) to automatically monitoring changes to the running instrument, method and sequence, EZChrom Elite’s audit trails are fully automated and completely detailed to provide assurance that you have a total history record of all events.

21 CFR Part 11:

Few initiatives have had a greater impact on the regulated laboratory than 21 CFR Part 11. Since its release several years ago, a number of laboratories and enterprises have adopted the 21 CFR rules as requirements in their working practices, their SOPs, and in the software they use. EZChrom Elite’s built-in feature set thoroughly addresses the 21 CFR rules, enabling the laboratory to fully comply with 21 CFR in the operation and handling of all chromatography information when implemented in the laboratory and used in conjunction with proper internal practices.

Other software options

EZChrom offers many other software programs to fit you laboratory needs and applications:

GPC/SEC control option

Gel Permeation Chromatography(GPC), often referred to as Size Exclusion chromatography (SEC), requires different formulas, calibration techniques, and measurements than other chromatographic measurement techniques.

The SEC Option includes narrow range, universal, and both types of broad range calibration techniques. Since the nature of the calibration is such that the curves are rarely linear, up to five other curve-fit types are available to evaluate and apply.

Calibration curves are applied against the data points of the standards directly on the SEC Setup screen, to simplify evaluation of the curve fit. Goodness of fit is calculated and displayed to provide a numerical reference to the interactive visual presentation of the curve and data points. Data points may be removed from the curve-fit calculations in order to determine the impact of outliers.

Reports include SEC Slice Report, SEC Summary Report, and calibration graph with coefficients.

System Suitability Option

System Suitability testing is prevalent in the Pharmaceutical industry where routine analyses cannot be performed unless and until the analytical system has been demonstrated to be suitable to the analysis. While system suitability testing is not the same as method validation, they are often used in conjunction to provide a complete picture of laboratory quality and reproducibility of results.
